This Certificate in Mathematics for Educators (CME) is for Middle School and High School teachers, with a focus on expanding and strengthening mathematical content knowledge while broadening their experiences with applications of mathematics. The 12 credits in this certificate program will address the career needs of Massachusetts High School teachers pursuing the
Professional License in Mathematics. This certificate can be pursued on a standalone basis. In addition, WPI graduate students can combine the certificate with the Master of Mathematics for
Educators (MME) program by simply continuing to take more of our mathematics content focused courses. Courses are generally offered three semesters per year and there is the capability for remote participation in all courses.
Admissions Requirements
Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree to be considered for enrollment. This program is expected to enroll high school teachers.
Curriculum
The Graduate Certificate in Mathematics for Educators requires the completion of 12 credits as detailed below. Course substitutions for other mathematics content courses offered by Mathematical Sciences can be requested and are reviewed by the Graduate Program Coordinator.
